A Note On Alternate Universes
Every scifi story about an alternate universe has one problem: alternates of ourselves in universes that were changed before we were born.

The Magnetic Fields are the only band that I have followed consistently since my teens. Every time they put out a new album, I buy it. Then I memorize every song. I also do the same for any of bandmaster Stephin Merritt’s side projects. This is because even after making music for 25 years, he comes up with stuff like this.

We just found out we have bed bugs. I’m mentioning this, yes, to whine, but also to alert anyone who’s been to our place in the last few weeks: you might have ‘em too. Hide yo kids, hide yo wife.
