Dave threatened to delete this list of Movies No One Can Believe He Hasn’t Seen so I’ll take these point-by-point from my own point of view. Apologies to Dave if he’s heard some of this advice a thousand times.

Titanic - It looked long, boring, and cheesy when I was a cool 13 yr old. Hardly seems relevant today.  [You are one hundred percent correct. The effects have not held up very well, and the acting and writing were hot garbage when the movie was released and have only gotten worse. See for camp value only.]

Top Gun - No reason, just never saw it. [Tony Scott did not seem to notice that he was making one of the most homoerotic films of all time. See for camp value ESPECIALLY.]

The Godfather -I think the two VHS tapes bound together at the video store (that’s right teenagers, i’m a million years old) intimidated me, and now i lost motivation for it. [There is no reason not to watch the first two movies unless you are generally not into Mafia stuff. They are fantastic films stuffed full of great performances. LEE STRASBERG has a major role in the second one, for god’s sake. Skip the third one.]

The Lord of the Rings (pts. 1-3) -Not into it. Rarely able to get into fantasy stuff. [There is no stuff more fantasy than Lord Of The Rings. If this has been an area of indifference for you in the past, then yeah, an 11-hour trilogy about midgets, trolls and ghosts is probably not going to be your thing. Fun action movies though.]

The Rock -Not avoiding it, just haven’t seen it. [Michael Bay’s best film, which is saying who cares.]

Avatar -watched 5 minutes of it and it looked like cut scenes from a first person shooter, with worse acting. [Some CRAZY BAD acting and writing in this movie. I still love it but I know I’m in the minority and I am seeking counseling.]

Raging Bull -not avoiding it, just never saw it. [Stop avoiding it unless you don’t like Martin Scorsese or enjoying yourself.]

Raiders of the Lost Ark  -I thought I saw this, and then I realized I’ve only seen Temple of Doom and Last Crusade. [Best of the three. Go watch it with some good friends and cold beers NOW. Why are you EVEN READING THIS.]

Rocky -Never Got Around To It [Actually I’ve never seen this either.]

Rain Man - Never Got Around To It [I have no problem with consigning this movie to the dustbin of Oscar-bait history.]

Gone With The Wind -eh. [Four-hour pro-South Civil War story about a total bitch and the total bastard she loves? What’s not to like? For modern audiences, a lot of things, actually. Beeee-yootiful cinematography and art direction, though.]

The Iron Giant - Never Got Around To It [Again. Why are you even reading this. Do you like The Incredibles? Do you like E.T.? Do you like Calvin and Hobbes? Of course you do. You’re a GOD DAMNED AMERICAN. Go watch it go watch it go watch it.]

Dirty Dancing -Pretty positive I won’t care/like it. [See for Understanding of Family Guy References only.]

The Graduate - Never Got Around To It [Eh.]
